email Fraud Alert from CitiBank

Fraud and Scams are endless on the net. I wanted to alert you to one of the most recent Consumer Alerts as provided by CitiBank. This link, https://www.citibank.com/us/cards/index.jsp will take you to an entire page of some of the fraudulent emails that have been received. (Once you've arrived, click on the Consumer Alert link in the middle, upper half of page.)

The emails are designed to have the unsuspecting person click on a link, then provide the *updates* or *info* they're requesting. From there, it's all history. Some of the info requested is:

Debit Card Number
PIN Number
Card Exp. Date
Your email address

Get ready for the ride of your life if you should be unfortunate enough to fall for one of these requests to verify or update your personal info ...

Go ahead, click on some of those email samples at the above link -- so that you'll never be caught off guard by one of them. Emails appearing to be from PayPal have attempted to do the same thing. There are countless others attempts at fraud which appear to be coming from a 'company.'

The one thing to always check is that you see the https:, not the http, when you've clicked on a link to provide any important info.
